Recently I've had more and more calls about people looking for used equipment and in this economy people are looking for ways to save money and make due, so used equipment is very hard to come by.
So, I've been thinking about alternatives to solve this "used equipment" dilemma. There are a couple things that you can think of as alternatives. For example, if your looking for a new vault board. You might think about refurbishing your old boards for $79.00 you can re-foam & re-carpet your board making it almost new with a recovery kit. Add a few new springs $8-12.00/each and you've got a "almost new" board for a lot less then a new and in better shape then a used board.
The same option is available for your balance beams. If your covers are warn and looking a bit

rough a recovery kit is available at a mere $149.00 and a bit of your time your beams will have new life with a fraction of the cost.
Mats are a bit harder, but there are some options available for example, you can order
replacement mat covers which are about 1/2 the cost of a new mat. As for foam, check for a local supplier and generally if you take a sample or have them come look at your facility they can come close to matching the exact foam in the landing and tumbling mats.
So all in all, talk to your suppliers and see what options are available to you. It might just be a better solution then even used equipment is.
